If you think you have a pest problem, the best way to monitor your collections on display and in storage is to use sticky “blunder” traps. Place traps in dark corners, behind boxes, under cupboards and in areas where you suspect insects are active. You can buy “Catchmaster Insect Trap and Monitor” in bundles from $20.00 from Garrards. – Lydia MDO Toowoomba

PVC pipes turned out to be an easy, inexpensive solution for displaying framed photos in display cabinets at the Pittsworth Museum. Man-of-the-hour Peter cut the pipe on the desired angle and left a ‘shelf’ for the photo to sit on. The pipe still needs to be covered with a barrier material to stop transfer of gases to the object.
